In its short life Liz Bacone’s Philadelpia label crafted two killer vocal group Northern Soul dancers.

The best known is the currently revived and oh so popular “I’m Lonely, I’m Troubled” by the “Limitations”; whilst this much silkier and rarer release is slowly emerging to take it’s place.

Much more my style of Northern Soul as it bathes in glorious vocal harmonies crocheted into a fluid arrangement. A exquisite melding of seamless pitches of male voices forge a simplistic but spectacular dance groove.

Then you flip it over and the flipside is every note as addictive. Presenting a double helping of classy, delicious Northern Soul. Which in our experience is the rarer of the labels seldom seen 45s.

One for the DJ who appreciates the subtleties of top drawer vocal-group gliders, rather than the crash, bang whallop of the more obvious Norther Soul stomper.

I just adore BOTH sides of this elegant harmony session.
