In its short life Liz Bacone’s Philadelpia label crafted two killer vocal group Northern Soul dancers and two truly riveting group harmony ballad, this elusive 45 gives up both.

The best known is the currently revived and oh so popular “I’m Lonely, I’m Troubled” by the “Limitations”; whilst this much silkier and rarer release is slowly emerging to rival it’s strong demand for ownership.

The silkiness of the Voltaires is much more my style of Northern Soul, as it bathes in glorious vocal harmonies crocheted into a fluid dance arrangement. An exquisite melding of seamless pitches of male voices forge a simplistic but spectacular dance groove. As addictive as it is smooth..

Then you flip it over and the flipside is every note as impressive. Presenting us with a double helping of classy, delicious Northern Soul dance. Which in our experience is the rarer of the two label's seldom seen 45s.

One for the DJ who appreciates the subtleties of top drawer vocal-group gliders, rather than the crash, bang wallop of the more obvious Northern Soul stomper. No stomping here today, just two sdmooth as soilk mid-paced dance grooves of the highest quality on one tricky to acquire disc.

I just equally adore BOTH sides of this elegant harmony session, that demands you to move your feet...
