Description

Description

Not another version of fellow Memphian Johnnie Taylor who recorded a song of the same name in for Stax in 1969.

This is another version of the under-the-radar Ann Sexton album track. As a 45 this meaty take is incredibly hard to acquire. I can remember in the late 70s / early 80’s it being included on most every Japanese want list we received.

A beyond soulful rendition, so ripe for and overdue reminder of Sean Hampsey and PatbBrady’s near exclusive play at Rotherham Clifton Hall and early 80’s Cleethorpes Winter Gardens over the next 4 decades a criminally neglected dancer, another case of serious rarity sending a record into irretrievable obscurity.

Eluding Northern Soul Jocks, being far too rare for mass consumption, a delicious Diva dancer that the majority have never audibly encountered and even fewer ever seen.

Do not overlook Veda’s pleading Deep Soul ballad on the flip, as she sinks into an abyss of palpable need, as Veda is hit with the realisation of her childhood playmate is the man she desperately loves. A killer ballad decorated with soft sister vocal group support

Two clean labels, full gloss vinyl reveals only the merest faint, sleeve storage blemish under light. Both sides play perfect
