Description

Description

Killer hard driven Garage from the brilliantly named "Stumps" from Dayton, Ohio a hotbed for garage band creativity. But apparently for this hybrid recording "The Stumps" enlisted the no so-local band "The Grodes" from Tucson, Arizona to smash the wild instrumental backing home.

The strange triangular combination of Arizona boys enhance Ohio garage, to be release on Bobby Boyd's label in Oklahoma. The long distance effort to get this rare 45 out there must have been exhausting as tthis was the "Stumps" only 45 release, then settling down to the vibrant late 60's Ohio band circuit.

On the flipside MODS will love a reworking of the Pete Townsend "Who" anthem "My Generation" a crude handclapping decorated reworking with a not so belligerent front vocal but scattered with magical moments of cool naivety along with accomplished musicianship and the cool addition of squealing chicks.

A fabulous tune, which ever side you drop the arm on...
