This week’s rare Northern Soul R&B slammer is a seriously rare Los Angeles born Blues shaker on the insanely obscure D.I.Y label H C T. Which turned backwards - The Clemons Home - a label originating from the small house at 1246 West Manchester Avenue, South Los Angeles.

We have in the past only come across this artist once before when we sold his 1961 45 “Let’s Jerk” on Combo records, also very rare. BUt try as we might we can find out very little about this neighborhood Blues Man and even less about his partner “Medina Gon”. Surprising as the 45 gives up a masterclass in electric Blues guitar that should be documented. Anyone who can make a electric guitar mimick a “Big Boy Coast To Coast Steam Train” needs to be written about.

In homemade real-deal a snarling vocal bustles for supremacy within a masterclass of Blues guitar manipulation, a real rarity in the true sense of the word. An driving uncompromising R&B dancer featuring T.L.’s snarling vocal running against potent blues guitar dances rhythms.
A record we believe we shall never see again, certainly not in Mint minus previously unplayed store stock condition.

As T.L. Sings “I’m gonna Love You, ‘til I’m Dead In My Grave” ...but I’ve always loved seriously rare records that never come to market. Especially showcasing amazing previously undocumented talent.

Condition Report

Almost 60 years old and utterly unblemished, both labels and vinyl are immaculate. Astonishing condition for an indie R&B 45.
