manship mint for Chistmas !

A legendary Northern Soul disc with chequered history! But here is an exceptional copy!

The old-school Northern Soul collectors will have his mind immediately cast back to his fledgling years, when the flamboyant Simon Soussan started to bootleg his most brilliant stomping finds. This example made on the streets of Los Angeles in the summer of 1967. By 1973 it had been given a new identity. A different label, pseudonym artist and different writers. Simon's imagination knew no boundaries, deception was a honed skill, when it came to marketing 45s to the then rather naïve Northern Soul market, Simon was the best.

This particular Northern Soul stomper first arrived in Britain at Selecta-disc on the never seen before Aliza label, credited as EDDIE PARKER (of all people) and The Sunlovers - You'll Never Make The Grade written by Jack Ashford & Lorraine Chandler, produced by Lorraine Chandler. Crazy really when you think he could have just made a local telephone call to Joey Jefferson and had a few copies pressed up legally...

Such was its stomping powers "Eddie Parker" became an instantaneous dancefloor monster!

Produced by Joey Jefferson on his now iconic Mutt & Jeff label, arranged by Ray Jackson. The crew deliver real-deal high-octane Northern Soul juggernaut. The type that met the needs of the amphetamine fuelled youngsters of British allniter scene in 1973. Every aspect of perfect Northern Soul was there in abundance, serving up for a frenetic two and half minutes of gymnast-triggering intent to destroy the dancefloor. Arguably the most potent vocal group "Stomper" of its time.

That was then, but this is NOW! Today it's flipside that is sparkling the attention,, sadly dismissed back in the 70's as a mid-paced stepper; But today is heralded as a Sweet Soul/Lowrider treasure. Delicately arranged by the boundless talents of Arthur Wright, not only the master of the Los Angeles Northern Soul sound, but also the mentor for so many group harmony sessions of excellence.

Two standout sides, in its first VINYL press from the desk of the talented Jazzman Joey Jefferson.

At this level of perfection - MINT in its birth sleeve - this is a
