Detroit does New York - and how!

Just before this versatile Motor City showman Spider Turner, joined MGM for two singles and an album that were to broaden his career away from local independent labels. Entrepreneurial and utterly prolific Julius Dixon "borrowed" Kenny Carter and Nate Edmonds' RCA stormer, adding lively shrill girl choruses driven urgent requests for help from Spider's pleading desperation since he lost his girl.

Extremely effective, classic style Northern Soul and so much rarer that Kenny's RCA release

Even without the experienced studio skills of Paul Robinson and the undeniable nous of the prolific Garry Sherman that RCA provided, Julius Dixon's rendition just edging the danceability of Kenny Carter's original concept.

Flip it over, for a D.I.Y. Julius Dixon composition stays with the same formula, employing "Earl Van Dyke" style rattling piano pulses, encouraging Spider's Jackie Wilson inspired singing style. The "Spider" great vocal impersonator does a fine job of making this rarity a fabulous double-helping of Northern.
