Description

The 1968 original Pittsburgh release for Chuck Corby and friends. Chuck Corby's only release under this foursome's inviting name "The Soul Communicators", and boy they have been communicating with the Northern Soul dancefloors for decades.

Although the foursome never used the name again, Chuck Corby, Cleveland Martin, Earle Thompson, Robert Thompson were a fluid Soul team. Whilst the latter 3 artists were already well acquainted with each other and
Joe Averbach's set of local labels; As they also recorded as "The Rhythm Rascals" who crafted another fine Northern Soul offering "Why Did You Have To Go" on Fee Bee's sister label "Sonic. In the Pittsburgh area during the 60's all members were highly regarded seasoned vocalists, so little wonder this 1968 session was something special, the four coming together to record one of the Steel City's most-wanted.

Rattling drums, signal the start of those aerial horns to lift off. It's the unmistakable beginning of a divine Northern Soul classic. Chuck Corby's beseeching lead, cradled by tight percolating vocals bouncing off each others enthusiasm as they support his every word. Every member totally inspired by the rich studio production prompting exceptional proceedings...

THIS IS NORTHERN SOUL!

I've always adored the equally imploring flipside, again showcasing this accomplished team's seamless harmony support as Chuck Corby unashamedly bears his palpable despair...

Two awesome sides, one very elusive disc.. as very few collectors are willing to part with such brilliance ... twice over.

Condition Report

Discreet writing under the Fee Bee logo on both sides, both vinyl carries multiple light surface marks, but plays strong and true. (listen), flipside is only g+ heavier marks causing crackles on playback.
