Description

Description

Top Chicago vocal group mentored by William "Bunky" Bill Sheppard featuring O.C. "Perk" Perkins - Tenor, James Dennis "Broeher" Issac - Tenor, James Allen - Baritone, Millard "Mill" Edwards - Bass and Kermit Chandler.- Guitar with their most elusive 45 from, from late 1959.

As covered on their 1980 "Solid Smoke" album, most all of their work was crafted by the group's above members. This 45 have label part owner, Demsey Nelson helping wuth the, lyrics. An high profile Chicago group, recording on many local Chi-Town labels. including Vee Jay, Pam, Mirwood, ABC Paramount, Bunky, Constellation etc. Confusingly this was "Bunky Bill's" 2nd group called the "Sheppards" the other gathering also Chicago was from 1956 / 57 recorded on Theron and United.

These are the "reborn" boys of 1959 with Mill Edwards and James Allen's vocals prominent throughout. A subtle but stunningly flawless ballad that drifts from one high point to the next.

Note "Society Girl " did not feature on their 1980 18 track album.

Condition Report

Two clean labels, strong gloss on mint minus vinyl, a fine clean promo copy.
