Very rare vocal-group helping of deliciously primitive J. J. Johnson guided Rocksteady. The a-side weirdly completely changing the direction of the after 45 seconds, after mimicking Lloyd Price's "Stagger Lee". They abandon the song altogether, going straight into real-deal "Rocksteady". "Wrong Emboyo" a novelty recording, that has you soon forgetting the piano dominated ""Stagger Lee" as they start all over again. A jam session thaey considered strong enough to release it in it's original form.

For me the flipside is the "value" tune, no tricks this time from Sir JJ just, just a rattling good slab of "Rock Steady" capturing the very essence of neighborhood cool, with its simplistic but highly effective production, decorated with beseeching vocals.

Stronng tune, rarely seen in such inviting condition

Condition Report

Two clean labels, 4 prong centre intact. good gloss on vinyl, revealing multiple light surface hairlines, but as you can hear it plays sweet and clean .
