Truly rare 45 giving up not one but two toe-curling male vocal group beauties.

Northern Soul DJ's go shelve your Sam & Kitty, Rubin, Freddie Chavez etc and give your dancefloor a breath of fresh air with this neglected Northern Soul classic from Philadelpia, classy vocal group winner that just whisks you back in time to the mid-seventies when this rare disc was one of the country's most-wanted. Today a really elusive "underplayed" Northern Soul classic, that sounds so fresh and vibrant, total Northern Soul that has not become tiresome from over exposure; and is never likely to, authentic proven rarity will ensure that.

My memories was one of the tantalizing slow start that held the dancers in limbo just long enough to ignite anticipation of something special is about to break. Like all the great "slow starts" "Frankie And The Classicals" etc that held the Cleethorpes Pier congregation spellbound, as those shrill girls chirped out the intro. The throng awaiting that blast of brass, the velvety male lead vocal.. and off we go into vocal-group Heaven. A well timed killer percussion break, and we are now deep into the Northern Soul Sound, embellished by the instantly recognizable Mike Terry baritone saxophone prompting.

What a fabulous slab of Philly Northern Soul that fortunately has escaped the attentions of blinkered NS oldies DJ's who perhaps never witnessed how big a dancefloor favourite it was in the mid-70s. Here's an opportunity to step outside the confines of the "Top 500" without losing a speck of quality. This is distilled Northern Soul in it's purist form that has yet to receive the NS renaissance it most surely deserves..

Inconspicuous, overlooked and saturated in all the qualities that catapulted me back to the mid-70's when everything you heard seemed to be fresh, exciting and motivational.

Bring it BACK! It is long-overdue for records of this calibre to awaken the senses, again.

PS the flipside is killer journey into 60's vocal group harmony, Sunday Chill-Out candidate f'sure, listen and drool.
