This week's Lowrider/Sunday chill, just knocks me dead.. . but it wasn't always like that.

As there was a time when the only Ronnie Walker 45 on Philips that anyone wanted was "You're The One". A popular "Torch" spin that Selecta-Disc commissioned a re-issue circa 1973 to meet demand. But since those blinkered days of yore, seeking out only the dance recordings made by this extraordinary soul vocalist. Times and opinions have changed, a man who inexcusably lived in the shadow of the Philly's other falsetto-master "Eddie Holman". Ronnie was every pitch as clean, some consider even more-soulful than the flawless Eddie H.

Today though everything has changed, Ronnie Walker is now globally idolised, for having one of the cleanest falsetto deliveries of all soul singers. His dreamy Phil Gaber / George Wilson harmony ballads now held in the highest regard. Just dazzling, heart tugging ballads of the most poignant kind. Mostly written by Ronnie himself.

Before you today is his first release for Philips, after his failed Bell release, this exquisite floater incorporating the sweetest imaginable girl-group choruses. Ronnie's icy-cold falsetto razors it way through, deep into you being, taking his voice to soaring peaks of devotion. Utterly gorgeous mood-changing experience...

The equally captivating flipside, Ronnie's long-term mentors George Wilson & Phil Gaber work their magic again, perfectly complimenting that phenomenal voice again. Ronnie's outpouring again drilling deep into your soul...

Two killer sides, shamefully my doctinated-youth didn't appreciate back in the day, when I considered myself a proper soul fan...I wasn't really...was I?

Two clean labels, a rubberstamped "PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE" on the flipside (see images), full gloss mint minus vinyl, that plays flawless. Listen and weep.
