Description

Description

Rare double helping of Northern Soul from the 45 desert of Tucson, Arizona.

"Lonely Town" a muscular horn saturated stepper, pelted with Bongo pulses, bass guitar bridges, this simple recipe keeps the song rolling forward, becoming more and more addictive each time you encounter its charms. It has has been making waves for many years, without more than a handful turning up, a real rarity with a strong fan base, even though very few actually own a copy.

Trumpeter Ray Camacho & the Teardrops leading his 9 member team, a very popular assemble on the "live" circuit in California and further east, performing the cocktail of Soul and crowd pleasing hits made a strong living, live circuit, soon gaining wide reputation for exciting live performances.

This 1967 Tucson, Arizona recording both sides composed by bad member Ed Burke. Flood with Northern Soul credentials, a mid-pacer that compares well with their raucous stomper of the same year ARV International 5018 "She's So Good To Me". Both "Lonely Town" and the other side "I Told You So" are boldly constructed horn driven, south-of-the-border influenced dance grooves. Guided by principle keyboardist and arranger Manuel Palafox driving thumping horn dance rhythms, whilst on the flipside, he shows off his saxophone prowess as well.

Two rare mood-changing tunes with a different style to the norm which has caught the attention of international DJs like Samuel Hugosson eager to spice up their sets with real rarities, this 45 certainly is.
