1970 UK press in stunning near unblemished Mint minus condition!

Pyramids reworking of Joe Meek's huge 1962 hit "Telstar". Famous for being the very British group recording to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, as well as reaching number one in the UK also. The record was named after the AT&T communications satellite Telstar, which went into orbit in July of 1962. T

This British 6 man gathering of Michael Thomas, Monty Neysmith, Roy Ellis etc. are completely at home adding their own sound effect and personality to a well known instrumental.Adorning it withy classic style Skinhead Reggae rhythms, give it new life and character.

Backing it all with another Hammond driven instrumental, this time a repetitive non-vocal version of their Duke Records DU-80 vocal flipside to "Geronimo". Both sides of this Trojan disc were produced by the group's long-term directors Bruce White and Tony Cousins. The pair later going on to found Creole Records in Harlesden taking The Pyramids with them and releasing two fine 45's in 1971 on their newly launched label.

"Telstar" is one of this highly regarded band's most-wanted, rarely if ever coming to market in such fine clean, near mint condition - do not pass by.
