In July 1962 Booker T. and the Memphis Group recorded a groundbreaking R&B instrumental that took the dance clubs of the world by a storm, to remain a timeless R&B anthem that still packs the floors today.

On the West Coast a few months later in November 1962, L.A's premier sax-man collaborated with the celebrated Johnny Otis to try and emulate Stax's feat of worldwide success with "Green Onions". Although this meaty equally convincing R&B journey, plays out the same persuasive ingredients, it fell flat on its face to become one of the rarest R&B instrumentals, it is humanly possible to own.

Johnny Otis's street-level label "Mexie" was only able to achieve a meagre 3 releases in 1962 before going defunct, every record after the first hopeful release by "Hannibal" is on the "vinyl impossible" list, even Johnny's daughter Laura was unable to achieve Radio airtime or distribution for her only 45, number two in the series and dog rare!

This Preston Love recording was Mexie's no. 3 and last release, an awesome runaway-truck, fully loaded Hammond R&B, pelted with blues guitar pulses, with a magnificent Preston Love saxophone intrusion, that blows a crater of inspiration right in the middle of this already invasive tune. Dare we say it's a stronger dancer than "Green Onions? I dare, but nobody can deny it is at least every note as good, even if Johnny & Preston arguably plagarised Jackson, Booker T. Jones, Steinberg, Steve Cropper's monumental jam session.

"Tough Walk" didn't sell a bean, now sitting in obscurity, in the rarest of the rare category, waiting for a DJ with enough nous to recognize its glaring potential for a massive dancefloor reaction and immediate DJ kudos.

Our first copy ever, and it's blown me out of my seat! Listen and prepare to be amazed...
