An elusive Texas R&B shaker from the highly regarded Poppa Hop Wilson, with arguably his finest Blues dance recording.

Label owner Ivory Lee Semiens on drums, Poppa Hop skillfully picking on his steel guitar, from honing his expertise in his home town of Grapeland, Texas. He began playing as a boy eventually hooking up with percussionist Ivory Lee Semiens in the late 50's; previously travelling to Lake Charles, Louisiana recording for Eddie Shuler's prolific Goldband label in 1958.

This is certainly one of Hop’s very best sides, “My Woman Has a Black Cat Bone" where he demonstrates he is so much more than just the master of his steel guitar, he was also an expressive Blues singer with a soften lingering growl that pulled you right into his emotions. Joined by relentless keyboard notes, sympathetic drumming the three elements meld into one highly engaging R&B strutter!

You will not ever encounter a finer copy!

PS the original A-side "I'm A Stranger " is totally killer Texas mournful Blues. Two great sides, from one highly talented Bluesman.
