Extremely RARE Memphis Prog/Folk/Rock private press, from a lone-single band "The Ponees" who feature the main man from another Memphis Garage band "The Breakers", Dickie Lewis.

What is interesting about this 45 offers up two totally contrasting sides, the flipside is a raw, uncultured pierce of blue-eyed Memphis Funk. It would of course be hard to for any recording Memphis band with aspirations of success, to overlook the R&B music Memphis was nurtured on. The rarity of "Move It, Groove It" has caused some interest from alert FUNK fans with the potent Memphis brass presence, relentless "wah-wah" guitar pulses, but for me personally I find it disjointed and a little too wild for my aging ears.

On the other hand I consider the brilliant hidden flipside "Here's The Place" an overlooked Prog-Rock gem. A fabulous example of eerie folky/psyche/rock. A stunning song you can't help but be drawn into., made in the finest traditions of Progressive Rock featuring a fabulous guitar break, complimenting the wistful lead vocal, whilst an understated keyboard vibes enriches the background. THe affect is a glorious journey into a floating dreamscape of consciousness. Top drawer recording, with so much potential for a big ticket if it were known.

The person behind these two starkly conflicting Memphis sessions is Natalie Rosenberg, the lady behind Charlie Rich's "Love Is After Me" and the Johnnie Taylor Deep Soul classic "Where There's Smoke There's Fire" so the lady know a thing about the Memphis scene, ultimately being completely comfortable with local diversity.

VERY RARE 45 indeed.

which ever sides grabs your attention, we can guarantee this 45 is insanely rare, especially in this toally unblemished condition.
