The now elusive 1971 British press giving up the original version of the song.

Over the years there has a considerable reissuing of this Wigan Casino anthem. And boy what a mess they made of it the unofficial Soul City UK press will have you in tears or laughing your head off when you hear it.

The Bulldog UK reissue is inferior in every way, the bootleg is poor sound quality. So the only way to own this dancefloor detonator is either on the Detroit GM label vinyl press, or on this scare 1971 British press on Ember. Rich sound, perfect fidelity and a good looker also.

This Original 1971 UK press is a favoured NS Wigan Casino anthem, that still today receives a highly appreciative response every time it is dropped.

But DJ's beware the only really acceptable way to play this classic is from this original USA press or the 1971 UK Ember 45 and that has nothing to do with OVO guidelines.. the other releases range from an inferior versions to a downright laughable press.

UK Bulldog release is a different mix to the 1975 UK reissue. The Soul City UK press is an utter joke, again a different version and awful sound quality complete with scratchy pops, ticks and crackles... amazingly shabby mastering.

So what ever your preference be for the USA GM or the UK Ember; first press issue is crucial to maintain DJ credibility.

Condition Report

Two perfect labels, vinyl reveals only the merest surface hairline under direct light, close to mint minus and plays so. All housed in an original Ember sleeve. What a stunning image that presents
