Description

Pzazz one of Northern Soul's most distinctive art-labels that has given up so many great dancers. Len Jewell, Fortson & Scott, Sinceres, Pimbrock Skiggs to name but a few. Everybody just adores this Paul Gayten conceived label, Los Angeles record-art at its most-stunning. A highly collectable eclectic label that gives up great Funk, Northern Soul and stunning Crossover cruisers.

The glamorous "Misty" who was rewarded with a highly regarded femme jazz vocal album the same year, but neither of these two tracks "Little Things" or "Can't Believe You're Gone" were included "Little Things " is a 45 only release.

Rattling percussion is joined by a barrage of brass, then "Misty" weaves her "Blonde Bombshell" charm into pounding production showered with insistent piano pulses peppering the arrangement. Thumping Northern Soul unfolds, a brilliant instrumental breaks partitions the 4 parts that Paul Gayten splits this uncompromising stomper in to. Gayten's unquestionable mastery of the orchestra and Misty's "Baby Doll" beckoning makes for a perfect contrast in this multi-layered, uncompromising Northern Soul dancer that has yet to reach it's obvious potential.

Lovers of the Northern Soul girl-sound this autumn of 1968 Los Angeles creation has snoozed for too long, Cindy Lynn's - Meet Me At Midnight - both are making it onto the comeback trail. .
