Description

April 6th 1962 single sided gloss-finish promo, complete with the elusive picture cover - with NO drill hole or any other flaws.

The Miracles - I'll Try Something New as a PROMO copy is one of the rarer Motown DJ copies. Adding to that the even more elusive picture cover you are looking at a nice seldom seen pairing, especially if the cover and label has escaped the dreaded cut-out drilling.

A listing for those avid Motown scholars seeking to complete the frustratingly elusive USA Motown runs.

The song itself I personally consider lyrically as one of Smokey's finest, soul poetry at it's most fluid. The way Smokey as early as 1962 he knitted words together, with silky comparisons was itself, just breath-taking. I'm surprised that this Smokey creation isn't considered by all, as arguably his finest work. Perhaps because it wasn't a big hit, it has slipped past everyone's scrutiny. Here's an opportunity to absorb Smokey's gifts, taking it's first baby steps towards a full-blown genius.

Smokey Robinson was unquestionably a wordsmith without peers.. .This is a complete Motown treasure, with that eye-catching pic-cover staring back at you.
