Imperative British Tamla Motown collecting does not get anymore challenging than acquiring any of the pre-EMI Oriole albums in collectable condition.

"Hi We're The MIracles" with that iconic cover, the beginning's of imaginative 60's album cover-art with a now historical 5 member group pose with "The First Lady Of Motown" Claudette Rogers in the centre, along with Smokey Robinson, Bobby Rogers, Ronnie White and Pete Moore flanking her wide smile, a line that would drop down to 4 when Claudette left to concentrate on raising a family.

This is Motown's and The Miracles very first album an 11 track reward for their monster hit "Shop Around" and the first album for the British Oriole label; they would soon be launching a succession Motown albums. All highly sought after, including LP's from Littler Stevie Wonder, Martha And The Vandellas, Mary Wells.

Today all these Oriole albums are considered works of art and very challenging to secure in clean condition. One look at the crammed with colour front cover tells you why. The immaculately dressed gathering holding large pastel letters announcing "HI we're the MIRACLES" with the strategically angled "SENSATIONAL AMERICAN HIT-MAKERS" . Is the view of advanced record marketing not overlooking the footnote on the front "Produced By BERRY GORDY, Jr." is one of the first examples of a record producer's name promoted on the front cover. Berry Gordy certain knew how to get Motown and himself noticed, which of course would later drive Motown into top spot for independent record company in the USA.

Read the condition report, then listen to the clarity of this launching pad for Motown Records both in the USA and the British Isles.
