I noticed this moody cruiser appeared on a play list from the eclectic but fastidious "Stockholm Soul Weekender" with its DJ's and their selections driving this event to ever increasing successes. So we thought this would be a great time to exposure this annoyingly elusive record's qualities on these pages.

Firstly, this listing is the attractive "black stocker" in glorious mint minus condition, still in its birth sleeve. Secondly it gives up not one, but two potent dancefloor destroyers.

The mighty vocal of "Lonzine" when first discovered by the Northern Soul DJ's was mistaken for a man's; being covered-up as Earl Jackson; a compliment indeed as we all herald "Earl's" mystery vocal, as right up there with the very most potent of all NS artists. The a-side a Van McCoy creation, with Luchi DeJesus and Shelby Singleton summoning up a mountain of brass, blasting over bass guitar pulses as a compelling dancer unfolds. Brilliantly decorated with shrill girl group choruses, the recipe for Northern Soul greatness is all in place, for "Lonzine" to rip the session to shreds with her decidedly masculine attack on the already roaring arrangement.

But also let's be aware this is also a fabulous double-hitter with "Cold At Night" on the flip, giving up another almighty explosion of horns, matching her snarling attitude for off-the-scale R&B dance.

Two great sides, with "Quit" once again is receiving the attention it deserves, from international DJs with real-soul-nous and impeccable taste..

Condition Report

Two clean black labels, not a hint of storage wear, full gloss vinyl reveals only the merest sleeve contact hairlines. both sides play perfect.
