A rare 1969 UK recording, a 45 with a huge cult following. Due to the seamless blending of MOD / Freakbeat / Psyche decorated by with snarling female defiance, expressed through a backdrop of angry fuzz-guitar.

A killer rare version of the Mac Rebennack & Jesse Hill New Orleans composition ably covered by Delany and Bonny on their "Accept No Substitute" album from the same year. A wise choice of song for this lady with such a commanding vocal that is able to convey the very feel of New Orleans, that Dr. John & Jesse Hill injected into the lyrics. Arranged by the prolific musical director Des Champ, produced by Jazz pianist Tommy Sanderson who weaves his keyboards skills into the busy landscape. But it is that outraged Fuzz guitar and the combative gravel-coated Louisa Jane vocal that turns the session into a must-own experience.

The flipside another borrowed song, this time from David Ackles first 1968 album on Elektra. Louisa Jane delivers another impassioned but despondent testament to sister Prog Rock, with the potency of the little know Louisa Jane White's vocal blasting through the intricate arrangement...

Listen to two great sides from this lady with the mighty voice.. two muscular tunes from a lady oozing with vocal presence.

NOTING here is not only a copy in fabulous condition, it is also the impossibly rare, undocumented THREE PRONG centre press, which we have never ever seen before. So much more pleasing on the eye and infinitely more collectable than the large hole centre press. A proper rare British collectors piece.
