Rare Chicago R&B thumper in sublime near perfect condition.

Lee Baker Junior, renowned Chicago Blues singer and formidable guitarist. Embarks on a convincing slab of snarling Soul/R&B, relentlessly growling window into Chicago dance Soul using his beautifully torn vocal to its fullest effect. Streets of Chicago NS at its most compelling... supported by mixed backing vocal choruses, driving percussion and Lonnie's guitar filling in any momentary space, with a great example of his guitar mastery with an impressive solo - resist its raw power if you can.

Lonnie's convincing "guttural" protests are supported by strong vocal group choruses, as rattling drums and bluesy guitar riffs pull you onto the dancefloor. Rarity was the only reason this Windy City "blinder", was missed back-in-the-day... As it was spilling over with all those "Southside qualities" that Johnny Sayles, Willie Parker, Harold Burrage etc. persuaded us all with throughout the earlier formative years of our Northern Soul experience.

Destructive NS that is currently getting the huge recognition it deserves...Distilled raw Chicago Northern Soul from the heart of the neighborhood, with a kick like a Mule...

a tune that will become an even bigger MONSTER when a few more NS Jocks own a copy.

Lonnie did have the authentic Chicago Blues flipside "One Sunny Day" released by Chess a year later in 1967, but Chess passed on the impressive "Demonstrating" leaving this eye-candy Chirrup label the one and only route to ownership.

Condition Report

Flawless in every way, check out label-art from the streets of Chicago, over 50 years old and totally unblemished. Check the soundfile on this "most likely" previously unplayed squeaky clean vinyl - it is perfection that you are unlikely to see again.
