Very scarce Los Angeles Sister Blues 45 from1967, that received a rather unconvincing reissue through USA Kent records, a rather plain , sparse looking label. Leaving off all the beautiful authenticity of the artistic "open book" logo and the neighbourhood of 5328 South Central Avenue, Los Angeles 11, Calif. address. That is so important whilst seeking original first presses, firing the imagination seeing and feeling when and where this rare disc was first conceived.

This is Janice Tyrone the same girl who recorded for Paul Gaytens's Pzazz label. Just like her Pzazz 45 young Janice writes her own material. What a great title "Scarred Knees" is, as Janice rolls out street-level Blues. Drawing strength from her religion when people let her down. "Scars On Her Knees" from praying for so long, for friends and neighbours to be right with her. The songs finale is a fabulous guitar solo from Janice herself. A talent to behold, leaving you wondering why only 2 c45's for such a gifted artist.

The flipside Janice repeats her feat delivering "cool" Blues playing killer guitar riffs whilst her voice pierces your soul.

This copy is immaculate, most likely unplayed before we lifted the double soundfile.
