From the golden year of 1969 this 45 gives up two instrumentals drenched in primitive charm.

The master of the saxophone Lester Sterling put a most-unusual twist on his saxophone skills. "Spoogy" is such an outrageous display of his craft and so completely off-the-wall. It poses some thought in constructing a review. But that's a good thing as Lester pushes the boundaries of Skinhead Reggae with a tune that has you reaching for the turntable for another drop.

After the canned "live" intro subsides the reed is pushed to the limits, as high pitched blows fill the air. Addictive rhythms flow, punctuated by solid drum outbursts, both decorating the constant backing dance rhythms. A so very different but highly effective..

Condition Report

Two clean labels, 4 prong die-cut centre intact, vinyl revealing only the lightest surface hairlines from sleeve storage, plays perfect.
