One of the ultimate Popcorn /R&B fusion crafted by Bay Area car salesman Mr. Ron Badger, backed up with more "Badger" bol;dness, in the shape of a silky smooth harmony vocal-group Deep Soul beauty.

Associate of fellow Bay Area musician the great Johnny Heartsman and rubbing shoulders with Robert Geddins. Working with Jesse James, Sugar Pie DeSanto, The Arcades, Ray Agee. Ron Badger was a mover and shaker of the 60's Bay Area soul scene, working with the best of the area. A man who didn't let selling cars hinder his enthusiasm for local back music, a man who supplied NOrthern Soul with some greats!

Here, he appears on Jesse Mason's El Cerrito based label with two stunning recordings given up by the most obscure of artists. A soul singer we know very little or nothing about. But his sulking style immediately captures your attention, as he rolls out a narrative of pain he couldn't break free of. Expressing convincing palpable regret, as he finally decides to leave his woman. With most likely Johnny Heartsman's Jazzmen decorating the background with a moody cocktail of piano, saxophone, the perfect foil for Leadell's despairing voice.

What a killer tune!

An absorbing Popcorn/R&B groove you cannot shake loose, as it changes you mood...
