Rare 1969 Promo with radio station i.d. and received date on label. But beautifully clean Mint minus vinyl still housed in birth-sleeve.

Kelly is Jim Kelly an highly accomplished guitar with a gravel-coated throat, as displayed on "Mary Mary" as he encapsulates the end of the 60's with a double helping Psyche/Blues/MOD.

It is the flipside "Reverend Richard Bailey" that collectors agree is the stronger of the two sides, a little more edge and trickier guitar breaks with a particularly strong solo in te final thord. Both sides however failed to receive any airplay and consequently fell into obscurity. Now considered something of a "cult" item and certainly a rare Deram # to acquire.

Kelly must have impressed writer, arranger & producer Ray Crane as Jim Kelly was invited to join Ray's group "Honeybus" also on Deram. A neat part of the Deram jigsaw, with Decca constantly encouraging new talent to record and release records. which of course made "Deram" one of the most collectable British labels.
