Description

Perfect condition Garage monster Grail!

1968 recorded in King's Cincinnati, Ohio studio written by Keith Murphy the lead singer, with John Asher - guitar, Bill Shearer - drums, Phil Fosnaugh - organ, Jerry Asher - bass these artists were the only mnusicians in the King studio to make this 45, an authentic D.I.Y. recording.

Allegedly withdrawn because the a-side "Dirty Ol' Sam" was considered too outrageous for release, leaving the flipside "Reminiscent Of Her " to be heralded as the finest ever Garage 45 ever released by King. It is much more likely though, King were in a state of flux prior to the protracted takeover by "Starday" and the massive civil unrest, triggered Martin Luther King's assassination, King distribution and promotional team were in total disarray; was the real reason for this unusual 45s extreme rarity. 1968 was chaotic year for all "black music" record labels.

But we are totally in agreement with "The finest Garage! King ever release, with very few 45s that fit under the umbrella of "Garage" and the flipside "Slightly Reminiscent Of Her" gives up particularly fine one example.

before you today is an impossible previously unplayed archive record still housed in its birth-sleeve.

An astonishing copy! cocoon in the bowels of our warehouse for decades, purchased out of curiosity because it was "King"
