The very first release on this iconic Bay Area label, another Ricardo Lewis stewarded session. out of Berkeley, California.

Johnny Talbot local R&B bandmaster gives up two gritty shakers, that have enjoyed a strong cult following and extreme rarity.

The original flipside, the totally outrageous but highly individualistic "Turkey In The Briar Patch" was recently bootlegged to cater for the "Tittyshaker/R&B" market; a weird but rather addictive R&B Jam melding heavy-duty percussion, relentless double-guitar pulses, attacked by unhinged vocal chants of "Turkey In The Briar Patch" decorated with gobble, gobble impersonations. A total novelty session that creeps under you skin, displaying why, over the decades this audacious free-for-all has gathered up a large enthusiastic collectors following. Personally I much prefer the original a-side, a meaty sax instrumental "Do The Broken Hip" which has NOT been bootlegged, and remains mostly unknown, arguably the superior of these two Johnny Talbot marshalled sessions.

"Do The Broken Hip" is a thumping display of saxophone-saturated R&B dance-craze, pelted with burping pulses through the intro, then the sax-man starts to show us what he is all about, wielding instrument joined hard hitting drums, then a fabulous Blues guitar break bridging the two parts together.

Johnny Talbot an highly respected Bay Area musician with only 3 45's to his band's credit, all bursting with adventurous energy.

This rare disc is flawless archive still housed in birth sleeve.
