The former Billy Williams - I'm Moving Out - cover up from an era of Wigan when every other 45 seemed to start life as a "Secret Sound"

But when renowned Northern Soul personality Dave Withers, publically listed it in his top 10 playlist September 5th 1981 as the correct artist and title. The race was on to secure a copy, of a tune that started life as the flipside of an unremarkable Blues recording. Nicely showcasing Johnny's animalistic snarling vocal and his wailing guitar manipulation, nothing that's stirs the spirits like emotions like "Ain't Gonna Move " does.

This flipside starts off with booming bass guitar pulses, aggressive rattling drums open the way for hard-blown horns, announcing that unique gravel-coated voice to snarl out the stability of his love for his lady. The powerhouse arrangement, is the perfect backdrop required to carry Johnny's curled-up top lip attitude that J. G. W. always burst forth with.

Johnny wrote, arranged and produced both sides, promoted it in his own independent label, just before his career entered his herald phase, with all his next recordings finding release through Okeh records.

What a raw talent Johnny Guitar Watson was, and of course a huge contributor to the Northern Soul scene.

This is one of his best and most elusive disc.
