A killer under-the-radar, overlooked Prog Rock / Folk session by the obscure but highly gifted John Christian Gaydon.
This 1967 UK rarity seems to have been way ahead of it's time, a British session giving up fabulous haunting Progressive/Folk Rock, an elusive masterpiece hidden on the flipside of a rather dour version of country ballad.
First written & recorded the same year by USA duo "Just Us" the talented team of Al Gorgoni & Chip Taylor. They chose it as B-side filler, that was picked up by two British Record companies Decca who gave it to Hull based band "The Majority", and Pye who likewise using it as a filler flipside to a banal version of "Almost Persuaded" strange, because the last thing, the British public needed was another version of that "Yawn" of a song "Almost Persuaded",
On the other hand, the string enhance, "gothic" flipside is drenched mystique and charm, an eerie production full of everything that draws you into progressive Folk. Extremely rare ad mostly unknown.
Rare original double A-side promotional vinyl 7" single. From the former rhythm guitarist with A Band Of Angels who later became a manager, involved with King Crimson, Julie Felix, Emerson Lake & Palmer, T.Rex & Roxy Music. He co-founded E.G. Records in 1969. "Wait By The Fire" was written by Chip Taylor & Al Gorgoni
