Just like Yvonne Baker’s “ I Can’t Change c/w Mend The Torn Pieces” Again the Motor City collaborates with The Sound of Philadelphia, helping craft not one but two standout Northern Soul dance tunes.

The top side “Something To Bragg About” is yet another immaculate Robert L. Martin composition, whilst the equally impressive flip “Crazy Things” incorpates the dual gifts of Jack Ashford and Mike Terry.

The credits of those 3 doyens of 60’s Soul sitting on the labels makes for a salivating journey into the very best Northern Soul has to offer. Which actually worked against its turntable life.

It was such a surefire Monster, it was spuriously counterfeited in premature anticipation of taking off big! But as so often happens when a flood of copies spill onto the collectors market. The late 70s NS DJ’S passed it over. It was not until later down the line, that it became obvious the “copies” on the market were “counterfeits” and the original was indeed a rare 45 back then and even rarer today.

So with a little patience either side of this 45 would have been a huge Northern Soul hit but was never given the chance.

Before you today, is that rare authentic first press, a listing for those of you who really appreciate, top drawer Northern Soul and would rather walk naked through their town centre at noon; than buy, play or hold one of those counterfeits pressed to deceive... and they did that for quite some time, at the expensive of a truly great 45 that never received the turntable time it most certainly deserved back when first discovered.
