Chicago links arms with Detroit when this productive trio of Mike Terry, Mel Collins and Joshie Jo Armstread craft a glorious slab of Northern Soul that amazingly over the decades has escaped the notice of Bootleggers. That has only happened because this fabulous recording still resides in the category of "rare & underplayed" even though this 45 has been on the radar of Northern Soul Jocks since the early 70s.

We can other no obvious reason for that oversight, other than it's scarcity and absenteeism from DJ's boxes, have added pressure for it sitting on the peripherals of the Northern Soul scene all this time. After all this is damn stunning Northern Soul, whether it is sung by Garland Green or this original version by Jimmy Scott. It is memorable, addictive and inspiring NS.

First appearing on Giant 706 two releases prior to this press. Mel Collins and Joshie credited the first press to "Little Jimmy Scott" only to be notified that there was already a "Little Jimmy Scott" artist and he was a Jazz LEGEND. So a quick withdrawal and repress came about, changing the "40 Days" to a flipside, and promoting "Nobody But You" but this release failed miserably. A quick google will confirm this release as by far the most elusive 45 of the two.

Giant 708 just like 706 gives up not one but two fabulous Northern Soul dancers, that the DJ can utilize in the knowledge thee are no reissues to hinder your play-list.

The killer bass guitar fingering, lifts and drops the mood for Jimmy Scott to slot his grasping vocal into those brilliant lyrics. It way, way overdue for JImmy to be aired more, especially by the DJ's seeking to impress with inspired choices, that ignite that wonderful phase... "Love This Tune"... not heard it for ages". A 45 that reminds you, there is so many truly top-drawer tunes, to travel back to..

Not forgetting the flipside is also a wonderful slab of Northern Soul in its own right.

Have we mentioned that the Giant label personifies, NS label-art gorgeousness..?
