Super-rare, highly regarded New York "Popcorn/R&B" in rare clean condition.

A Belgium Popcorn anthem, that seldom comes to market - certainly our first copy for many years - and how wonderful it was, to be able to immerse myself again, in its addictive far-eastern powers. Flute, Big gong hamerings, The Ginqin or far Eastern Banjo, precise plucking of the Pipa transports you deep inside "Chinatown" to a secluded restaurant, to fall in love. Producer Frank Metis and his orchestra were obviously well versed in the art of the Chinese symphony.

The vocal style and the arrangement are the perfect marriage for conjuring up visions of not only 60's Lower Manhattan's Chinatown but also Belgium Popcorn clubs of the early 70's when this was such as popular tune. That eventually crossed over into Northern Soul, as it thankfully the DJ's spread their boundaries into other styles of dance. Little is know about Jennifer herself, other than her beckoning rich voice so ideally fits the atmosphere.

Listen to top drawer Popcorn/Northern Soul uniqueness and prepare to become absorbed in the recordings enthralling individuality.

A memorable tune and so tough to acquire.
