Description

Description

The rare head-turning BLACK stock copy of a Northern Soul anthem from those two dynamic scribes Pamela Sawyer & Lori Burton. Two girls who gave more to the Northern Soul scene than any other female pairing. Their partnership responsible for innumerable top-quality Northern Soul dancers; with "Like One" sitting at the pinnacle of the many NS classics they wrote together.

"Like One" is of course a pre-Wigan Casino spin, but will always catapult me and many others back to the balcony of "The Casino" peering down on the jam-packed dancefloor, with the crowd not only dancing frantically to this motivational Soul but also singing word for word at the top of their voices, lyrics the gyrating hoard had loving memorized.. from previous encounters.

Now for the first time I'm happy to plagiarize the emotions the previous owner had written on the card sleeve back in 1973 when he purchased this prize piece.. you can feel his teenage euphoria lifting off the sleeve..
teenage emotions we all felt but never wrote them down in words..

1973 review of his new acquisition. "Heart-Wrenching Sound Takes The Mind Right Back To Those Hot N' Steamy Nights Spent At The Torch!"

A sizzling NS girl Anthem you can never tire of hearing... lovingly encapsulated within Northern Soul History.

PS do not overlook the beseeching flipside, also a total killer.

Thank you Pamela & Lori for your genius and Lewis the 70's author of those memory jolting words
