After just one copy in the last 1/4 of a century! Then we turn up another (in finer better condition) from a collector seeking to "cash-in" of the ever mushrooming demand for ownership of this prestigious 45...that triggered frenzied bidding that went well into overtime.
So we are more-that delighted to be able to offer Rarest of the rare Northern Soul for only the 2nd time this century!...

A much-loved Northern Soul vigorously hunted Northern Soul Holy Grail, whether it be on the first Nashville label Southern Artists Records, or Bill Justis's failed 1965 launch on Bell 627. When he headed up this promo only with the rather drab "Till You Break Up With Him" - no wonder this 45 ended its life as being beyond-rare! The delicious "You Don't Even Know My Name" remaining hidden from view as a flipside.

We have often sung the praises of the creative prowess of Robert Holmes, thanks to ACE/Kent he is now a legendary soul lyricist and producer. Crafting important NS works with Peggy Gaines, Bill Brandon, Johnny Truitt, Jimmy Church, Freddie Waters, Wendell Watts, The Avons to name just a few.

His work with this silky smooth local harmony trio the Hy-Tones, blending the consummate vocals of Freddie Waters, "Skeet" Alsup, Eddie Frierson remaining under the radar for decades; until it, like so many Northern Soul Soul greats, awaiting discovery by those intrepid Northern Soul pioneers who strived to keep the scene fresh.

A fabulous offering of excruciating rarity and pure class.. Two clean labels, with strong bright silver text, still neatly, housed in birth-sleeve. Presents fine strong gloss vinyl, just a few soft blemishes under light, plays crisp clean and true. (listen)
