Very RARE original 1969 first press, rich red labels, heavy duty vinyl , label has the master number LH-6162 with NO brackets. The 2nd press pale red label, with weaker black print has (LH-6162) in brackets. And easy distinction, made at a glance.

A listing for those Northern Soul DJs and collectors who care what is in their collection, easily suffering from a severe nervous-twitch if a second press of anything contaminates their treasured vinyl's authenticity.

Such a beautiful Northern Soul tune, and so seldom encountered as the authentic FIRST press. Before Lanor themselves reissued this disc in the early 80s, this 1969 original was a very seldom seen highly sought-after Northern Soul jewel, radiating every characteristic the NS dancefloor feeds upon.

Finger-clicking rhythms ridden by an uplifting vocal supported by the shrill girl-group affirmative choruses and cooing background support hovering above mingle with haunting horns. Twice partitioned by pumping brass breaks, stabbing trumpets followed by squealing girls, a subtle saxophone solo. This tune has the lot! proper Northern Soul.

The original a-side is a top-drawer example of gut-wrenching Southern Soul...Deep Soul that plumbs the depths of personal despair, with a familiar story of "lost love" Huriah's vocal really comes into top form as you feel this expressive performance is something he, himself has recently experienced. With all the ingredients of the dance side, pulled in, slow down...and hurting.

From Church Point, Louisiana sitting almost midway between New Orleans & Houston, Texas the Lanor label pulled inspiration from both of these Soul-blessed cities. This 45 giving up not one but two standout real-deal Soul sessions.

Love it!
