Description

Description

Off the radar, insanely rare 1969 Prog-Folk-Rock from the pen of Andrew Hutton. A record that never really stood a chance, underlined by Tony Blackburn who allegedly said after playing it on Radio One "They Are Not Going Very Far With a Name Like That" every DJ avoided announcing the tongue twisting name of "Hunt, Lunt & Cunningham" for fear of messing it up and inadvertently spilling an expletive over the airways.

This obscure 6 member band, from London lead by the notoriously nonchalant Roon Hutton (Andrew to his mother) who wove a fabulously haunting folk-rock landscape to decorate the heavenly sister-vocal of songbird Lynne Pearson. Gentle guitar intro for the hovering lead voice, to build her performance as eventually the male team members join in on this wonderfully evocative folk-rock dream-like recording. Guided by the famous innovator of THE WHO - Peter Meadon.

Mr. Meadon does a great job, but maybe not with the group name, which DJ's avoided at all costs.

One of the reason why this cool session is so very rare.

Not many collectors have heard its hypnotic charms or indeed the mesmerizing vocal powers of folk songbird Lynne Pearson.
