Description

Description

Rare 1968 feelgood Rock Steady groove from drummer and vocalist Hugh Malcolm with Tommy McCooks "Supersonics".

Triumphant horns take to the air, heavy duty bongo beats patter out constant dance pulses as Hugh's muscular vocal receives support from male vocal group choruses, as the session is powered and showered with hard blown exuberant trumpets. Great tune!

Flip it over for a simplistic "single finger" piano ditty apparently referencing Sidney "Luddy" Crooks sleepiness on the flipside, is as primitive as they come, but I've always been drawn to "primitive" when it comes to my music preferences. Delightfully unsophisticated it naïve approach grows on you.

Love both sides of this elusive disc.
