An immaculate copy of this timeless NS anthem!

Not since I stood on the Cleethorpes stage having just finished my set, the legendary "Pier" DJ Poke dropped the arm of this Northern Soul juggernaut for the first time, has a record impacted my emotions quite like Herbert did that night... in 1974
What a way to start your 60 minutes in front of a packed house..

What an intro, those drum rolls that triggered instant jealousy from me and the other mingling DJ's awaiting their turn; then Herbert sang; the onlookers, the dancers and DJ's were all astonished. With the stage entourage near clashing heads in the rush to spy an immediate monster! " what the hell was this? " spinning on the desks.. an instantaneous dance-floor HIT giving up a monumental vocal, riding blaring horns, with humming, hanging trumpet notes, sending chills through everyone present.

I for one couldn't believe my ears, "Play it again Poke.." I couldn't wait to hear a replay of such an incredible tune.. There I was waiting, standing directly in view, as he casually pulled his treasure from his DJ box, the next week to wow us all over again...today 47 years later, the same euphoria has just rushed through me again..

Today, though some forward thinking NS DJ's are dropping the needle on the flipside " Push Away From The Table " another rush inducing big-bollock dancefloor experience, of immense power!
