JAM collectors alert!

To our amazement this Track 2094-135 was supposed to play Heartbreakers - Chinese Rocks / Born To Lose - and I took great care with the review but it's a 1977 MISS-PRESS and plays THE JAM - IN THE CITY / TAKIN' MY LOVE - POLYDOR 2058 866

Obviously a Polydor pressing plant error. That has thrown up a RARE miss-press for Jam completists to puzzle over.

Heartbreakers real press is not an easy find in it's original form. This is NOT the plastic-mould injection 2nd label. This listing is the seldom seen 1977 UK paper solid-centre label first press in just immaculate condition. A rare JAM - In the City pressed onto an already rare 45.

This 45 is the seriously uncommon first press format, with both sides that Polydor had expected a great piece of Punk shaking under the weight of aggressive New York outfit. Instead it plays the most-important band of the late 70's MOD revival. Instead of the screaming belligerent voice of Johnny Thunders we are treated to the gritty political views if a young and vibrant Paul Weller. .

Probably not a totally unique copy, as obviously for this to get out into circulation not only did Polydor mess up, they didn't find the error until it left the building. But UK wise this has got to be THE JAM'S rarest 45..
