A young 18 year old Geraldine Hunt, under the stewardship of Mike Hanks. Just like her first 45 on Katron, then later released on Checker. This U.S.A. label 45, is by far her rarest 7", again constructed in Detroit by Mike Hanks, William Garrett, Dave Hamilton and the mysterious writing "Ghost" Clara Belle Williams.

We lead with the chosen, but superior flipside "It Never Happened Before" a typical "Hanks" creation saturated in Detroit influences. Using richly endowed male vocal-group harmony backdrop in sharp contrast to Geraldine's questioning voice. Crisp, shrill and direct, young and vibrant showcasing many traits from the Motor City in 1963. Sharp ringing vibes, shower her soaring voice as she skips through the lyrics with atmospheric surrounding cradling her innocent singing.

The male vocal building up to a crescendo, as it tails off, demanding you listen again to this unusual Northern Soul Soul rarity.

The flipside "Sneak Around" is another good Detroit dancer from the "four" as a troubled Geraldine shows her mature side backed up this time by a "Vandellas-esque" girl group. A mid-tempo stroller girl-group scholars will adore, archetypal Detroit that the Marvelettes, Martha & The Vandellas and of course the early Supremes non-hits were bombing Detroit with in 1963.

A teenage Geraldine working with three of the Motor City's most prolific music-making wannabe's.

Extremely rare and extremely interesting double sider!
