A marvelously moody 1965 Esmond Edwards, Chicago project, made extra special by the presence of the talented Jazz Bassist and arranger extraordinaire Richard Evans.

The contrasting combination of booming double bass, plucking violins, aerial horns, experimental jazzy Hammond organ notes; A cocktail enhanced to the maximum when those songbird glide in with a shrill choruses of "What Can I Do". All this cradling George Kirby "The Showman's" expressive voice as it weaves it's way through this deliciously sulky groove. Then suddenly changing through the gears as it powers its way up, towards an awesome fanfare of trumpets, an instrumental break of real muscle.

Proper Northern Soul, a brooding mid-paced dancer, you can never tire of hearing..

Such a fantastic tune, personally I adore it. Especially in clean play perfect, condition.

Condition Report

date 65 in marker left hand middle a-side label, otherwise two clean labels, no drill hole. Strong gloss on the vinyl, revealing a few soft blemishes, as you will hear it plays beautifully clean.
