An Insane R&B jumper in perfect condition!

Another highly inventive session from the prolific Norfolk, Virginia recording machine driven by the energy of Frank Guida. His local Church street S.P.Q.R. / Legrand would have world wide impact, as a few of his recordings became hits.

But not this one from his recording star Gary U.S. Bonds, this 45 hardly reached the streets of Norfolk. After al Gary and Frank’s early successes “New Orleans” “Quarter To Three” “School’s Out” Gary’s Midas touch for hits started to wain. Straight after this non-starter “My Sweet Ruby Rose” Guida quickly decided to revived the old hit formula “Going Back To New Orleans”

“King King” had title-rights issues and was dropped from the flip side from the UK release of “My Sweet Ruby Rose”.leaving “King Kong’s Monkey” quite easily Gary’s rarest 45.

A wild slab of R&B from 1964 hooking into the “Monkey”dance-craze sweeping the USA. Now receiving R&B/MOD DJ attention featuring outrageous “Church Street” percussion & saxophone decoration elevating Gary’s seasoned vocal another notch.

The nominated a-side “Ruby Rose” is also very good R&B but “King Kong’s” extreme “withdrawn” rarity status and wild “Titty-Shaker” characteristics have made this elusive 45 very sought after indeed.

This copy is flawless..
