Jay Boy's most elusive Northern Soul promo's and of course one of the truly great NS offerings.

Both sides are utterly stupendous..

Although originally starting life as a flipside, the pulsating, string propelled “ I'm Satisfied With You “ was an instant Northern Soul monster when first played in 1969/70 in those heady days of import discoveries within the UK, as more and more USA import 45s flooded into England. The equally exciting “Just A Little Mixed Up” lay neglected for decades; today it lays in wait, to shock the dancefloor, with its underplayed charisma just as instantaneous as “satisfied”. An extra tool in the imaginative NS DJ box to elevate his set with. Get a listen, you’ll wonder why it has been overshadowed for decades.

In 1970 seventies when Ed Kassner of UK “President” acquired the rights to many significant Soul labels, Bert Berns’ -Shout, Randy Woods’ Mira, Mirwood, Ed completely opened up access for the UK Soul fan to acquire a product line of very finest currently played Northern Soul club hits. Jackie Lee, Richard Temple, The Sheppards, Jimmy Conwell, Phillip Mitchell, Donald Height to name but a few could be ordered from your local record shop, fueling the Norther Soul boom to even greater heights, whilst making Jay Boy THE label to collect, filling the void left when the Sue and Action labels faded away.

Ed Krassner used Keymen catalog brilliantly, releasing both The Fi-Dels and The Furys; today arguably the jewels in the Jay Boy a label, run, that has earned the right to become a “label completists” challenge, with those “Big Red A” demos being the ultimate prize.

So now hear the extreme studio alchemy conjured up when talented James Moore, Jerome Evans, Charles Jackson, Phil Solomon combined with James Anthony Carmichael, Jimmy “Mack” McEachin that winters day January 1967.

No matter how much both sides flood your space with feelgood, superior vocal-group Northern Soul, your eyes will always be drawn back to the beauty of the Jay Boy DEMO … an irresistible combination!
