Description

Description

A rare Miasmi NS stomper involving all the Florida main-men. The whole gang were involved in this one, the Miami music mafia of Willie Clarke, Johnny Pearsall, Little Beaver, Arnold Albury, Bobby Martin and Clarence Reid come together to build a meaty slab of Florida Northern Soul.

A chance for ownership at a fraction of the value, as the flipside is heavily marked.

Outsider an Arkansas youngster, Will Beaver Hale opens up the song, with potent guitar pulses the type motivational rhythms that launch his Miami career into becoming the most influential guitarist in Florida. Then add brutal horns a fabulous Northern Soul dancer unfolds.

A dancefloor experience consistently championed by a DJ with taste; Mr. Kevin Highham has been firmly behind this moody brass lifted musclebound dancer, with Arnold Albury's undercurrent of Hammond keyboard firming up the hints of JB influences. Partitioned by a most wonderful scything saxophone break cutting the song in two. Heavy duty percussion throughout, all matched by Frank Williams' admiration for the James Brown's style of singing. It all works so very well, the team decide to do a sparse vocal version on the flipside. With the horns, the saxophone, the keyboard brilliantly over-riding Frank Williams' snarling vocal.

Both sides are instantly addictive, a 1966 dancer that has always proved so very hard to acquire. Hearing it again today reminds me, thank heavens for those DJ's who keep digging into dormant rarities that so deserve to rescue Europe's Northern Soul dancefloors from the tedious Top 500 tunnel-vision...

We repeat very elusive Northern Soul at a fraction of its value - perhaps...

Condition Report

two clean labels, a-side is a very acceptable vg vinyl, surface marks but plays with only negligible, background some soft ticks and pops, whilst Part 2 is pretty mashed up, g+ at best gives up horrid surface noise. So to be accurate this is a ONE SIDE only offering.
