The 1967 RCA press variation in the high fidelity vinyl.

This deceiving David Blake and Phil Medley's concept with the subtle intro of gentle guitar picking, tambourine, drum; that suddenly explodes when Frank's booming vocal bursts into action, then Blake & Medley summon up an amazing fanfare of triumphant horns, showered by a cooing girl-group, who transform their aerial response into shrill choruses of affirmation. The arrangers have raised the bar, as each layer builds into a true New York big-production statement. An intricately decorated arrangement, enriched with a shrill girl-group choruses and a constant femme cooing appreciation. This multi-layered mid-tempo then erupts with an almighty brass break at the midway point, followed by insistent bass-guitar dance-pulses, seamlessly bridging the two sides of the song together, just brilliant!

Real-deal proper Northern Soul bulldozer of a tune, that filled the mid-seventies floors at both Wigan Casino and Cleethorpes Pier when the RCA design press was first discovered. Just enough copies to ensure it became a monster play for most-every top Jock of the time. S

For me a timeless classic, having been their at the time, playing a major part in promoting its charms throughout in the mid-70s...

today it still blows my sock off!
