Description

Description

A listing for MOTOWN dedicates, historians and completists.

Written by Gwen Gordy & Tony Carlo, flipside written by Berry Gordy, Gwen Gordy & Tony Carlo

First issued on New York's fledgling, just one year old., End label July 1958 one of the records Gordy licensed to END that motivated Berry Gordy to go it alone, when he looked at the pittance END royalties cheque and pinned it to the office wall and used it as motivation to succeed, a daily provocation that worked so very well. As he strived to become independent; in less than 10 years Motown dominated the Billboard charts. End by comparison was sold to Morris Levy' Roulette in 1962.

The Columbia attempt to promote " Baby, Baby / Blabber Mouth" failed completely leaving this quirky 33rpm 7" disc as a rarity, that most Motown scholars have missing from their run.

The Five Stars would eventually morph into "The Voice Masters" and then "The Originals" with Five Stars members Walter Gaines, C.P. Spencer, staying the course to become one Motown's most loved vocal groups.
