A British press that started life as one of the very few UK Motown 45s of quality that didn’t sell. The stock copy of TMG 583 is one very elusive number to find; with this green & white demo an undisputed TMG grail.

Rising up on a wave of intense Twisted Wheel, Mojo etc. plays creating a huge demand for a quickly deleted non-seller. That demand triggering an EMI reissue in 1971. Now allowing every mobile Discotheque DJ to spin Motown's most-wanted countrywide, and they've played the hell out of this most wonderful slab of Motown every possible moment since...

This copy the b-side "Stay n My Lonely Arms" has some deAACep pitted surface marks 1/2 way through that react with the stylus, clicks and pops when play tested on a our Technics deck. This is why we say this is an opportunity to own a Green & White promo that would normally send the bidding history off the scale.#

With British * TMG collectors possibly passing on this listing, we expect a possible bargain for the less fastidious collector. The A-side of course, although revealing some light surface hairlines it plays loud clean and true...a tune guaranteed to make you feel 16 years of age again...

having said that a "Green & White" always puts a spring in this old man's step...

Condition Report

Small faint initial JS on the 4 prong centre (see images) otherwise two crisp green promo labels, vinyl carries full gloss just a few soft signs of play, here is maybe an opportunity to acquire an iconic TMG Demo at an affordable price?
